Scotland is known for being an open, equal and inclusive country. It was recently reported that Scotland is the most gay-friendly country in Europe. Edinburgh, Scotland’s cosmopolitan capital city, is seen as a very welcoming place where diversity is celebrated.
Every year Edinburgh hosts the Pride Scotia March and Pride Edinburgh Festival. The event began as Pride Scotland in 1995 and has been going strong ever since. This year’s dates are yet to be announced.
Our vibrant city has lots of exciting venues to choose from. The most popular LGBT bars and clubs are located in an area known as the Pink Triangle, found between the east end of Princes Street and the top of Leith Walk. The most well known gay club is CC Blooms on Greenside Place, but there are many more.
Other popular areas at night include the Grassmarket for traditional pubs and student bars and George Street for cocktail bars and chic clubs.
