Q: What time am I able to check-in?
A: You can check-in any time after 3pm
Q: What time should I check-out by?
A: You should check-out any time before 11am
Q: If I arrive late in the evening, will it be possible to check-in late?
A: Our hotel has staff on duty 24 hours aa day but please notify the hotel of arrivals planned after midnight.
Q: Will it be possible to check-in early?
A: Please be advised our standard check-in time is any time after 3pm. If rooms are available prior to check-in time, an early check-in may be possible but is not guaranteed. You are welcome to leave your luggage free of charge in our luggage store prior to your check-in.
Q: Will it be possible to check-out late?
A: Should you wish to retain your room after 11am, please arrange with reception. All rooms are subject to availability and a small charge may apply.
Reservations & Cancellations
Q: What is your full cancellation policy?
A: Cancellation and prepayment policies vary according to room type. Please check the terms and conditions when selecting your room.
Q: How can I amend a reservation?
A: If you have made the reservation direct with us, then please call us to amend a reservation T: +44 (0)131 337 6169.
A: If you made your reservation directly with a third party agent, then please call them directly.
Q: How can I cancel a reservation?
A: To cancel a reservation that you have made with us directly, please call us to cancel the reservation. T: +44 (0)131 337 6169. Please note that cancellation will depend on the terms and conditions applied to the reservation at time of booking.
Q: How do I make a group booking?

Q: What is your Child Policy?
A: All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for children’s cots/cribs. All children from 3 to 18 years are charged £30 per person per night for extra beds.
The maximum number of extra beds/children’s cots permitted in a room is 1. Any type of extra bed or child’s cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by the hotel prior to arrival.
Facilities & Services
Q: Is wireless internet available at your hotel?
A: Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel free of charge.
Q: Is breakfast included in the price of my room?
A: We have various room only rates and packages with breakfast included. Please check your booking confirmation for details. Breakfast is served in Skerries Restaurant between 7am and 10.30am Monday to Sunday with hot breakfast available from 7.30am.
Q: Is room service available at all of your hotel?
A: Room service is available for breakfast and evening meals with a 24 hour soup and sandwich menu. There is a small surcharge for room service.
Q: Is a laundry service available at all of your hotel?
A: Laundry and dry-cleaning requests can be arranged with the reception team.
Q: Are safety deposit boxes available at all of your hotel?
A: Please contact Reception for information on storing valuables in our hotel safe.
Q: Are all of the rooms in your hotels en-suite?
A: All of our rooms are en-suite. All bathrooms come equipped with a bath and/or shower.
Q: Are disabled rooms available at your hotel?
A: Please contact reservations directly for further details prior to booking online.
Q: Are tea and coffee-making facilities, and shampoo and shower gel, available in every room?
A: Tea, coffee, milk and sugar with a sweet treat are available in every one of our rooms. Complimentary Molton Brown Shampoo and shower gel are provided in rooms.
Q: Are hairdryers and universal adapters available in the rooms?
A: Yes, there is a hairdryer in each room. Travel adapters are also available on request.
Q: Are ironing facilities available at your hotel?
A: An iron and ironing board can be provided on request.
Q: Is there car parking at the hotel?
A: The Dunstane Hotel has free parking for residents. We have two car parks, one behind our main building and one in front of our Luxury Townhouse. Car Parking works on a first come first served basis, unfortunately we do not reserve spaces at this time. Should you be struggling there is also ample on street parking – free evenings and all weekend.
Q: What is the best way to reach the hotel from Edinburgh Airport?
A: There is a direct Airport Airlink Bus from just outside the airport terminal to the hotel. It stops directly outside the hotel at the bottom of the steps to the main building, the stop is called West Coates. The bus is the number 100 and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes. The tram goes from the airport to Haymarket and there is a 5-10-minute walk to the hotel from there so we would suggest the bus. Alternatively, a taxi which will take approximately 20 minutes and costs £17-25.
Q: How far is the hotel from Edinburgh City Centre?
A: The Dunstane is located in Haymarket which is approximately a 15-minute walk to the West End of Princes Street. There are three regular buses, 12, 26,31 that run directly from the hotel to Princes Street, The Royal Mile and Leith Walk.
Q: How easy is it to organise Scotland Tours from the hotel?
A: Very easy! Reception are more than happy to help with any travel plans for before, after or during your trip. We do recommend Rabbies Small group tours for trips up to the Highlands or for exploring further afield and there are easy train links from Haymarket station (5 minutes away) to the centre of Glasgow, Stirling, Perth, St Andrews and further afield.
Q: How near is the hotel from major attractions and venues such as Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh Castle and the EICC?
A: The Dunstane is perfectly located for your visit to Edinburgh – the Castle is 15 minutes on the bus towards the centre of town and the Zoo is just 5 minutes on the bus in the other direction. The Edinburgh International Conference Centre is located just at Haymarket which is a 5 minute walk away or a couple of minutes in a taxi. Our reception team will be happy to help you organise and book any trips and taxi rides necessary during your visit.
