Edinburgh Sports Events and Murrayfield Hotels
Sporting events are an important part of Edinburgh’s culture and social scene, thanks to our neighbours at BT Murrayfield Stadium – home of the Scottish Rugby. Six Nations matches, Autumn Tests and new for 2016, the Guinness PRO 12 final, are all excuses for us to open our doors. If you’re heading to Murrayfield from the city centre you can’t miss us, we’re the ones with the packed beer garden and high quality burgers to set you up for the match.
You can find all nationalities mingling around and even the odd Rugby legend! Check out our Facebook page to see who popped in during the last Six Nations! Although mainly a rugby union stadium, Murrayfield has hosted American football, rugby league and association football matches as well as being a big venue for Edinburgh music events and concerts.
There’s regular racing on the outskirts of the city at Musselburgh Racecourse, located just 6 miles from Edinburgh. Offering top rate facilities, services and staff, as an award winning, 5 star visitor attraction. Find out more
Edinburgh has two Premier League football teams, Hearts of Midlothian and Hibernian FC – or Hearts and Hibs as they’re known. They play at Tynecastle Stadium (Hearts) and at Easter Road (Hibs). Find out about upcoming matches here.
