Murrayfield Stadium

It's a name to stir the spirit of any rugby fan - Murrayfield. It's the scene for international fixtures as the rugby might of the Scottish national team take on England, Wales, Ireland, France and Italy in the annual Six Nations Championship. From Dunstane you can enjoy a match day lunch and then walk the short distance to the ground to cheer on your team.

Murrayfield Stadium is less than half a mile from Dunstane Hotel and Dunstane City Hotels.

Murrayfield is home to the Scottish national team's matches in the Six Nations and other international Test Matches. It is also home to Edinburgh Rugby, who play in the Magners Celtic League and Heineken Cup.

Murrayfield Stadium has a capacity of 67,130 making it the largest stadium in Scotland. Murrayfield was opened in 1925, with the first visitors, England, defeated on the way to Scotland's first Five Nations Grand Slam. In 1975, Scotland v Wales attracted a crowd of around 104,000 - then a record for a rugby match.

More recently Murrayfield hosted selected matches in the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Murrayfield also hosted the 2005 and 2009 Heineken Cup Final.
